Can you wear a blue denim jean jacket with black denim pants? I did today and somehow it just didn't feel right. What do you think? I'd google it, but I trust your advice more.
Um - I'm definitely no fashion consultant, but I think there's a (pop culture) name for wearing denim on both top and bottom. Ed would know the term. I don't think it's a positive one.
Sorry I'm no help. I get excited if my socks match. I used to know ALL the rules about 15years ago though. Ask me something about the late 80's or early 90's and I could be very helpful.
Sheri, I guess I would have to say that it's probably a no-no. Please note--these are not my own rules. They are my sister's rules. I turn to her in any time of crisis. She's my fashionista.
Sounds kind of "off" to me, Blue Jean Jackets look nice with Kahki's or white pants- probably not black denim. ?Why? It's just what my color conscious brain says.
Carla, just to clarify, I looked into the Canadian tuxedo thing and it turns out that a blue denim jacket with blue denim jeans is a no-no. Some people wear them together (me) but other people make fun of it.
Good question, Erin. Until last month, I thought the whole rule about white between Labor Day and Memorial Day meant EVERYTHING white; not just pants! Not that I followed the rule. I just couldn't, for the life of me, figure out why anyone would make a white sweater then... ;-)
Oh...I love all of you. How fun was this! So...I'm shocked that you really can't wear a denim jacket with the same color denim pants. I knew in my gut that mixing the denim just didn't look right...thus..Canadian tuxedo. We've learned so much today. I also heard that tucking isn't in anymore. Thank goodness for that!! I've never been a good tucker.
Maybe our motto should be..if it feels good..wear it.

Canadian tuxedo? Oh no. I'm going to be obsessed with that all day...Yes, Sheri, I guess there is such a thing as too much denim and I'm guilty of it.

I'm right there with Katie. Only mine are more the early 80's...big hair, the whole thing.
The first question I usually ask is "What's clean?"!!

Seeking clarity here. Blue denim jacket with blue denim jeans is fine?? But not black? What gives? Where have I been? What's clean?

I'm still horrified over this.
Um...Coffeegirl?
Why are you asking US?
Kris, don't be horrified. We all love you.

In my simple thinking - denim jackets work with everything but I might just be thinking to simple.
